Solar System

Our term two inquiry unit has been all about space and beyond.  We worked in small groups to research the planets in our solar system.  As part of the unit we created 3D models of our planets.
We have found out so many interesting facts.  We would love you all to come and check out our planet fact sheets in Room 9.

Our 3D Planets

We studied planet Earth.  Earth is the only planet with life on it.  It is the third planet from the Sun.

We researched the Sun and the planet Pluto.  Pluto is no longer a planet, in 2006 it become a dwarf planet.  It takes 248 years to orbit the Sun.

We looked at the Planet Uranus.  Uranus is a gas giant.  Uranus is the only planet that spins on its side.  Uranus has 27 moons.

Saturn is the second largest planet in our Solar System.  It is a gas giant and has 53 moons.  Saturn is one of four planets that has rings.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our Solar system.   It is a gas giant.  It has a giant red spot called "the eye of Jupiter"  It has rings but they are very faint and can only be seen when Jupiter passes in front of the Sun.
